The College of Medicine at the Arizona Health Sciences Center is committed to fostering an environment of education, research, and scholarship with the goal of improving health outcomes for the people of Arizona and beyond. As part of our mission we seek to enhance the professional development of practicing physicians and other health professionals, while providing opportunities for our students and physicians in training to work more closely with the greater medical community.
The College has been actively engaged in continuing medical education and continuing professional development since its founding in 1967. We have been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) since 1986. In 2011 the College was re-accredited for a 4-year term.
The CME Office manages the administrative functions required to provide sponsorship for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. This is the only type of continuing education credit that we provide. As Arizona's only MD-degree granting college, we work with our faculty and other medical educators in Arizona and elsewhere to provide a range of high-quality continuing medical education activities.
The CME Office is overseen by the Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs, Bruce Coull, MD. If you would like to develop a CME activity, please visit our Planning an Activity page.
