No. The CME requirement will apply to all renewal and reinstatement applications after the first renewal or in the case of an applicant who has never renewed, after initial medical licensure. First time renewing physicians are required to complete the online New Physician Orientation Program prior to the renewal of a license.

Yes. One year of full-time service in accredited training program earns 50 Category 1 CME's and full-time service for a portion of a year earns 1 credit hour per week.
If you wish to renew your license, you must earn at least 50 Category 1 CME's before applying for renewal. The renewal application asks you to certify that you earned 50 Category 1 CME's. If you answered that you earned the required CME's and you did not, you have falsified your application. Be advised that you may be selected to participate in a random CME audit. If the audit reveals that you did not earn at least 50 CME's during your renewal period and you stated that you did, you may be subject to disciplinary action.
